HOW TO FILL IN THE ESTA APPLICATION FORM
Since September 08, 2010, access to America has been made easier thanks to the ESTA form. The ESTA form is a mandatory form, and submission is possible from several websites, such as the one at the bottom of this page.
It is advisable to apply for an ESTA at least 72 hours before departure to the United States, in case the application is put on hold. However, it is possible to apply at the last minute. There are even emergency services at the airport, allowing you to make your request before the flight. However, if you don’t receive it in time, you won’t be able to board.
FILLING IN THE ESTA FORM IS EASY
Filling out an ESTA form is easy thanks to specially dedicated websites. You will be asked for personal information such as your name, passport number, telephone number and country of residence.
Please note that every detail you are asked to provide should not be overlooked. Validation of your application will depend on this. Travelers must complete the questionnaire themselves. Some specialized websites, such as the one at the bottom of this page, translate the questions into French for easier understanding.
ANSWERS ABOUT ESTA
Once you’ve completed the questionnaire, you’ll receive an immediate response. There will be 3 possible responses to your request: authorization is granted (you are authorized to embark), the request is denied (the person concerned must apply for a short-stay visa at the consulate of an American embassy), authorization is pending: the person concerned will receive a definitive response within 3 days.
FURTHER INFORMATION ON ESTA
Without the ESTA form, it is not possible to board a boat or plane. The form is valid for two years. You’ll be able to make many trips to America as long as your passport hasn’t expired. A copy of the answer to your request is always useful. Remember that the ESTA form is not a visa, and that immigration authorities reserve the right to refuse you entry to the U.S. upon arrival. |
