ESTA application in English
The terrible attack in New York in 2001 prompted the Americans to set up a system to ensure the safety of passengers on ships and planes, while keeping an eye on each and every one of them.
The ESTA formality was born of this initiative. Since 2009, all nationals of VWP member countries traveling to the USA without a visa are required to apply for an ESTA before leaving. The Visa Waiver Program is not a purely American idea. The Australians were pioneers in this field, and the European Union is also considering similar procedures with ETIAS.
HOW CAN I APPLY FOR ESTA AND AT WHAT COST?
There aren’t many ways to apply for ESTA. The only way is to apply online. You can fill in the form yourself, then pay the ESTA fee to validate the application online.
AND IF I ONLY SPEAK ENGLISH, CAN I STILL APPLY?
The ESTA form is translated into English. You can find it on the web in 23 languages. These are generally the official languages of the countries participating in the visa waiver program. This wasn’t always the case, since in 2008 ESTA was only available in English.
